A large public panel entitled “Culture and Diplomacy – A New Chapter” organized by Zaprokul will be held on Tuesday, March 7 at 6 p.m. in the Matica Srpska Gallery in Novi Sad (Trg Galerija 1).
In the year marking the 55th anniversary of the magazine Kultura, Zaprokul organizes another in a series of public panels intended for a wider audience, now for the first time in the European capital of culture, Novi Sad. The public panel aims to initiate dialogue and improve research on cultural diplomacy, as well as to awaken new ideas among the creators of foreign policy and cultural strategies, to initiate new research as well as public discussion on the issues of the relationship between culture and diplomacy. Zaprokul presented new topics and current views in the field of culture and diplomacy in the 173rd issue of the KULTURA magazine.
Through the prism of historical experience, recommendations from the past and with reference to current relations in foreign policy, the participants in this panel will present different understandings of cultural diplomacy and its application. With this public dialogue in the Matica Srpska Gallery, we want to highlight the importance of cultural institutions in strengthening Serbia’s cultural diplomacy. At the same time, our intention is to point out the role of artists and scientists in diplomatic initiatives and the international positioning of our country.
