The promotion of the poetry collection “Suteren” published by Zaprokul, the new laureate of the prestigious poetry award “Novica Tadić”, the young poet Mata Uljarević, will be held on World Poetry Day on Tuesday, March 21 at 1 p.m. in the Zaprokul Gallery. On this significant day, a new, sixth PUBLIC CALL for young poets for the “NOVICA TADIĆ” LITERARY COMPETITION will be announced.
The authentic literary appearance of the great Novica Tadić gave the prestigious poetry award that bears his name a part of its uniqueness, ennobling it and making it stand out from others. The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and Zaprokul, by awarding this award year after year, affirm new voices in Serbian poetry, making it unique in our culture. Uljarević’s manuscript, which the commission singled out among 64 manuscripts by authors up to the age of 35, from Serbia, Republika Srpska, Montenegro and the rest of the world, deserved this significant recognition for its innovation.
On this occasion, the collection of poetry “Suteren” was published in Zaprokul’s edition of “Prisustva”, in which, according to the committee, the typical Tadić bittersweet note, which is a feature of some of the best songs of today’s Serbia, quite clearly resonates.
