As part of the cycle CHRISTIANITY AND FILM, the eighth forum was held under the title FILM AS GOSPEL DRAMA. The forum, whose guest was the famous film and theater director Ivan Jović, raised important questions about the understanding of art and life, the possibilities of film to express man’s existential drama, spiritual struggle, and above all the struggle with himself, which each of us goes through. dare to search for truth and meaning.
Vladimir Kolarić, the theoretician of art and culture who led this inspiring conversation, was interested in the process of creating the films “Healing”, “Legacy”, as well as the new “Shady Mediterranean”, which is in preparation. The gathered audience had a unique opportunity to hear the famous director’s vision of the connection between Christianity and film, film as a unique medium of light, but also to learn about the intimate experience of this creator’s film.
“Film collects light, i.e. it collects a single concentrate of light that eventually explodes into a video projector lamp that you cannot look into, just as you cannot look at the Sun,” Jović pointed out on this occasion.
