On the occasion of International Women’s Day, an interesting forum on the topic of love and emotional relationships in the modern world, entitled “Love in the age of artificial intelligence”, was held in a pleasant environment, full of Zaprokula Gallery.
The gathered audience had the opportunity to learn the secrets of connecting people through social networks, love and emotional relationships “at a distance”, both in the pre-digital era and those maintained through modern means of communication.
We were guided through this exciting journey by the panel moderator Igor Ril, art historian, deputy editor-in-chief of Politika zabavnik. Ril pointed out to the audience the chemical background of emotions, empathy and love, but he also placed the focus of the forum on emotional relationships in the modern world, as well as the consequences of the “digitized” on the closeness or alienation of people.
Marko Braković, psychotherapist and author of the famous novel “Facebook Predator”, pointed out the changes that the concept of love has undergone from the time of handwritten letters to messages on social networks. “Mass connectivity has made communication easier, but it has also caused an increase in attachment.” We have come to a situation where a person is afraid of life, and is simply pushed into it by intense and superficial communication.”
On the topic of fear, Ivan Điković, computer scientist and writer, continued, raising questions that he poetically explained in his novel “Energokinetic Gambit”, concluding that in the age of artificial intelligence in which we live, but which is yet to come: “we should not fear technological progress, but humanity must constantly educate itself, question and doubt, even in matters of emotions and love.”
